I say get the dually. I just had my 42 Tiger behind my lowered GM on Saturday going to Toledo, it was 0 degrees and wind was ripping across the Ohio turnpike enough to make my hard tonneau cover start to lift up on one side The truck didn't wobble at all. i saw semis being whipped and thought I was in for one hell of a ride. I'll never tow without a dually again.

I have 144k miles on an 04 f350 6.0 diesel. runs and drives perfect. I had a 7.3 also. It was a good truck as well.
1 thing ive read over and over is DONT CHIP THEM. thats when you start blowing headgaskets etc. Just drive it stock and it will be fine. its just tempting to add 125 hp and 200ft lbs of torque for $400. mine will stay stock and hopefully last to 200k before i sell it.

To say all 6.0's are bad is a stupid statement. I have over 80,000 miles on an 03 6.0 and not one problem. It has plenty of power and always gets over 17 mpg. I had a 7.3 and liked it also but the 6.0 is quicker and pulls better in my opinion. I would go with the 6.0 again.
I'm at 150K+ on my Excursion and having the same experience. My 02 was a 7.3L and missed it at first if they still had Excursions would have no problems getting another with the 6.0.

I tow with a 06 crew 6.0. It is a really fine tow truck. I understand that if you do not build HP into it they are great. I have had no problems, 17K. If you add HP the 6.0 is the weakest of the three. Cummins in the middle. Duramax is the toughest. The Ford Tow Command is superior to anything out. My wife can pull the boat safely with this system. I would not let her do that with a electric brake switch alone. My 02 cents.

Putting an aftermarket intake and exhaust on the 6.0 not only gives you a bit more juice, it takes some strain off of the motor. I took the cat off and went with dual mufflers- inline.

I've got a 2003 6.0 with 65K and it has only been to the shop for recalls/flashes and all I do with it is tow 14K. It is a SRW 4X4 with rear air bags .

OSD, my GM 3500 is lowered too but it still handles and tows absolutely perfect. As was stated before, I usually curse a bit when I'm trying to maneuver around town or find a parking spot (usually waaay out at the edge of the parking lot) but I don't think I'll ever own anything other than a dually.

I was told today that the 6.0 is quieter & more powerful than the 7.2 in everyday driving. The 6.0's did have problems in 03 but usually an easy fix at the FORD Dealer. I found a really nice 2005 Crew Cab Lariat 4x4, loaded (auto, leather, sunroof, etc) but has the 6.0. for $29M. (it's dark Green and Tan) Also saw a 2003 Crew Cab with the 7.4 Lariet but 4x2 for $27M (Blue & Gray)

Croozin & OSD: Are you guys pulling with 4x2 or 4x4's?

[QUOTE=Everyone wants a daily driver that's comfortable, easy to maneuver/park and rides smoothly PLUS will pull a 15,000 lb boat. Been that way as long as folks have been buying 15,000 trailer boats. That truck does not exist.[/QUOTE]
Exactly.
I drive a Cavalier for the commute. Everyday that I do it's money in the bank. I don't care about the girl in the 'leased' BMW next to me in rush hour traffic that thinks I have no money.
Daily driving is a rat hole. I won't throw money down it.

BBY, mines a 4X2. Old school '98 model! It's a gas burner but we live on the water so I don't tow that much anyway. Best part about the old girl is she's paid for!
