I thought the same thing until I test drove a new Nissan Titan. I bought it on the spot. It rides 10 times better than my dodges ever did and they are built in the USA. It is also rated for 9500 lbs and did a fine job at it. I bet the new Toyota is also built here in the USA and will pull 10k lbs no problem.

Even though they manufacture them here, the $$ still goes to their stockholders. How much Toyota/Honda/Nissan stock do any of you own? And, they're not building them here out of charity. It's more profitable & expedient to assemble them here which equals increased revenue for them to send home.
When they open up their own markets to US goods (which will never happen) then maybe It'll go down a little easier. In the mean time, if their $hitty little island slid into the Pacific, I wouldn't lose a minute's sleep.

Don't be thinking that the big three don't send money over seas! Ford's Hybrid technology is bought from a company that Toyota owns ! the big three out source ALOT of their materials to biuld there trucks and cars.
The only thing that will stop Toyota is buyers who hate Toyota because of the country they started in. Sad if you ask me. but hey we live in a free country and we spend out money on what we choose!
it will take some years for the big three to build a product as well as Toyota has. this is proven. just watch how well the new Tundra sells in the next 3 years!
Guess who is going to be the first with a diesel in a half ton? I'll put my money on Toyota.
After I have said all that, if I had the $$, I would be in a new Avalanche with the 6.0L and AWD!!

Actually, it'll probably be Ford. Perhaps a 3.6-liter turbodiesel V-8 that makes 267 hp and 472 pounds-feet of torque. Keep your eyes out for it.

I was upside down on my current truck, so we couldn't make it happen.

Depends on what kind of an American you are . I understand that the 2500's can be a harsh ride, wait and try the new ones if new is an option, word is that the big 3 have worked hard on ride quality for the 07/08's
