Thanks guy for the input!!! I know they change the engine for 2008. Didn't know if there was an easy fix for the problems like disconnecting something or once the turbo was replaced they where good. or something like that!!

I have 88,000 on my 03 6.0 with no problems. The tech who services is a freind and he said the head gasket problem is if you have a chip or overload it towing big stuff. He also said the problems he sees are low mileage trucks. The more you use them they seem to run better. I tow a lot with mine but try not to overload it.

My '05 pulls amazingly, no worries. After the bugs have been worked out, it's a great engine - but they did have a whole hell of a lot of problems in the first year and a half.
35K seems low for a 4+ year old diesel truck. Know any history on it? If it was used to tow big loads and it hasn't crapped out yet, chances are you would be okay. But if it's been an ornament its whole life and then you start yankin' some big weight, that's when the problems might appear.
Also, at 35K If it is one of the "problem" motors, the troubles are just about to show up.

I've got an 05 350 with the turbo diesel. Its towed my previous boat, 42 Tiger and my new one, a 46 rough rider. I've never had any issues whatsoever.

With an '04-1/2 or later, I wouldn't even think twice about it. But again, there were a LOT of lemons in the early years. I would be really hesitant with the '03.

If it's an 03 and still running it's probably not one of the lemons. It seems the 03's that ran good were the best 6.0s because the changes in 04 and after robbed much of its power. I drove an 06 just like mind and it was sluggish compared to mine. The problem is how do you tell if it was a good 03 or not. With 35,000 miles I would think it's ok.
