Chris,
That Maico is Beautiful. Fox Airshocks to boot! Brings back great memories. I raced Suzuki's in the 100 class (remember that?!) and 125 B class while I was in high school. In college I raced open bikes. I had a 78 YZ400, 80 KX420 and an 82 465 Suzuki (my favorite!) As cool as the new four strokes are, It's tough to beat the rush of riding an open class 2-stroke!

First bike was a '91 Honda CR80R. Liquid cooled, she flew. Beat my buddies free air 125 Yammy. Didn't like to idle though, and it wasn't much fun in the woods. Second, and last, bike was a 2001 Yamaha YZ125. I loved that thing, didn't have enough time to ride though.

That 81 490 is one of the badest dirt bikes ever made!(Quoting Motocross Action Mag) What a beauty! I hope you get the oportunity to ride those bikes occasionally. They all look like they are in great condition. Where are you able to find parts? I'd love to get my hands on a 490. I raced against those bikes all of the time in 81 and 82. The Hinkle brothers were fast on Maicos in District 12 and 14 at that time.
