A lot of us haul boats here. You can count on $2.00 per mile and Tampa to Cleveland is 1100 miles at $2.89 a mile for fuel at 6mpg 19 hrs of driving at $.40 pm and if your boat is wider than 102" wide ( the overwide permit) . Scale house hastles are a joy! Dont forget truck payment and insurance is part of it too. maintance of a tire or 2 at around $250 for trailer or truck. Your lucky tomake a buck.

Bad Girl, I paid $6,000 to bring a 50' Cary from Fort Lauderdale to Wisconsin two years ago. It's now 'for sale' if your interested.

you will pay between 2.00 and 2.25 per mile. the fuel is not getting any cheaper and the insurance and truck payment are there too.

with the size of todays boats getting bigger a one ton will only handle about half the boats, states are cracking down on trucks not having the capasity to haul the boat and trailer. also you need ICC cert and proper cargo insurance

From a local commercial truck insurance agent. But I will warn you that without prior history you may have a hard time getting high cargo insurance with no experience level. By high I mean at least 500,000 in cargo with todays boats

You can look to spend 7,000.00 and even more on insurance per year with lots of restrictions. Another 300.00 for DOT and ICCMC authorization, whch is required. Then you have to go by the DOT regulations, hours of service, medical exams, equipment inspections ect. If you only haul in state it's a little easier. Then you have to compete with the non legal haulers charging only .60 per mile, which won't pay for your fuel let alone your insurance and equipment.
