I still kind of have a 93 gt with my little brother, he has not paid for it yet! They are rare enough in North America neither of us will sell it
The 5spd's are pretty tough clutch wise for a "heavy" car, kind of like a Vette. A shop will charge about $1200 total, parts are $700for 83to86 clutch, above years are little over $900. German and hydraulic makes them a little bit more complex then an average car, not as nuts as a 944 though...... The clutch and shifter feel is a bit lite in feel. As mentioned the trans is in the rear, so the shifter tends to be not as direct. Reverse is also where 1st should be. It's kind of like a Ferrari 308, in that its annoying until you driven one a few times.
The automatic can be beat up on and driven like a 5spd. Doing so is even mentioned in the manual. The benz is more hydraulic sounding, but they are the same and they have a good long track record with it. Benz 5spds don't sell well in North America and surprise that neither did 5spd 928's. Vette, Mustang, Camaros, Firebird's, even Nissan 300Z's, 280Z the latter used the same auto as the 944. After driving those in auto can see why nobody likes auto trans until they drive a 928. The difference you don't get that thud when you use it to down shift that happens when you reach first. When you floor it also kicks down a gear. You also do not lose performance as much like most vs 5spd. When P-car came out with tiptronic in the 911, they should have just used an auto 928 trans. It's the only auto that I can not only stand, I prefer it over the 5spd.
Not sure if I've posted this vid yet!

Think I'll bring my 88S4, I've spent too much on it so never selling it. I have the same X pipe set up as this:

I've always wanted a '69 Camaro and even the 1971 and up till about 1981 style wise. O.K even the third gens like Simon & Simon Z28 just look good. Even total chit boxes have that its fast about them.

A Porsche doing a burnout. Very cool! Do they come with limited slip diffs? I'd have to drive an automatic car to see how they are. I do drive a lot of autos like sticks, shifting manually. Some work okay, others not so much.
When are you headed to Vegas?

I'd forgotten about that show! I remember the Dodge Powerwagon pickup too. Gen 3 F bodies (IROC) Camaros are fun too. Can get great deals on them and are easily modified. Again, not real refined but fun to drive fast. Sometimes it's more fun to drive a crude car fast than a very well handling car.

Just noticed you list Van BC as second home. 90 Gt 5spd with those miles is super rare if its in Canada and even the US. 1989 1/2 to 1991 P-car only made 1620 and of those 65 or something came to the US and even less into Canada. Hence why they are still getting a premium $30K range.

Optional until 1990 then standard. Hope to leave on the 7th. depending on if no snow in the mountain passes. Also if my older Brother goes, I'm not.... He and his partner received a huge contract. He owes me $10K and he should pay me before the million dollar freakin airplane!

Few years ago myself and small group of car dealers knew Japan was a great cheap place for European cars. Today most dealers in Vancouver and even the Japanese via Ebay have figured it out....... Canada has easier import rules and with the US think 15 years or older are exempt. So most of the rarer color combo's I've seen are European, was going to ask if yours was Euro spec.

I have been buying cars out of Japan for the past 15 years we export between 50-70 a month all around the world, there is alot of the old "heavy metal" cars up there, especially anything late 80's early 90's when the economy was booming and people were buying cars like they were going out of fashion!

One of my Dad's friends buys from one of his friends in Van dif cars all the time as well. In the last couple of months he bought a Aston Martin Vanquish S and maybe 2 years ago he had a Bentley Turbo R.
