for trailer tires? How many ply? Buying new tires for a 353 with an aluminum trailer/tri-axle. Hooked up weight is 11,400 with only 50 gallons of fuel. I can get a good price on Towmaster 8 ply are these good tires?

Goodyear Marathon.

Never had an issue although others will tell you they have. Goodyear also makes a commercial tire- basically a tire for lowboy trailers. Big $$. I think they're 16 or 18 ply.

Towmaster is a Greenball brand. Not bad stuff.

You can't have too much tire. Go with the E-load rated tires. D-rated is OK, but E is perfect.

I run Firestone Trans Force LT E-load rated tires on my trailer.

I just put Carlisle 10 ply E rated on my trailer.I have 15 inch rims 225/75/15.I replaced the Goodyear marathons D rated. The Goodyears always looked like they were always low even when at correct pressure.I really like the Carlisle's.

I'd have to double check. I have not taken posession of the boat yet but the tires are too worn so I want to replace them when I get the boat.

anybody with 16's needs to look at the Bridgestone R230/R250 or the Michelin commercial RIB and be done with it.
These are tires with all steel construction.
Virtually every other tire on the market spoken of or considered here is a polyester sidewall/carcass tire.

The Michelins run about 200 ea.
The B'stones about 160.

But what price confidence?
These two are seriously tough, long-wearing tires.

Goodyear Marathons on smaller trailers.

I run Toyo's on the Outlaw trailer.
