As much amunition as possible! I have been contacted by 2-3 people a day since I have posted this request on the different websites. I want to show a pattern how General Motors handles their warranty coverage claims on these trucks.

Sorry to hear about your problems and I sure hope you get satisifaction.

My first thought is WOW 1500 EGT's , 12,500lbs up hill and down shifting.

I was always told that 1300 was as hot as you ever want to run them that anything over is melting the fins on the turbo.

I just never push my truck that hard.

Good luck

I just don't understand how it can get to 1500* without any power adder...

I had a tech at a dealership message me that he had a customer come in with the same problem where an injector failed and the EGT's were at 1800 pulling a 20,000lb trailer and he said G.M. stepped right up and fixed it. I don't like to run mine that hard either. I am thinking when the injector sticks open and dumps all the extra fuel in the cylinder, that thing has to heat up. Thats way too hot for me too!

How did you determine the egt, boost, etc? was the trailer a gooseneck or a ball hitch? was the tranny in tow haulmode and in the manual or automatic setting ? Just curious i'm on my 4th duramax and while the tuner will give you boost egt etc i didnt know you could get it without ? Is that the data obtained by hooking up to the gm computer (freeze frame )? Or did you get the freeze frame data by calling Jeff Girardi ? (just kidding)Thanks

GM and Ford's warranty are great on these trucks...as long as they dont find that you added a power enhancer..chip..module..programmer...they will fix asap and give you ride as compensation..that has been my experience. Jeff
