As Griff said, going with the 4.10's will really help alot, both in tow rating and overall acceleration under load.

The 2007 and up 6.0 is not the same anemic 6.0 that its predecessor was. It is a great engine for a gas engine, it will not pull like a Dmax will, but I assure you, you will have no issue pulling a 29 Outlaw. Especially since the 2007+ have the 6-speed transmission as well. Fact is I used mine to pull something quite a bit bigger and heavier, and had no issues. Did it pull like a deisel, no, but I had no problem maintaining with the flow of traffic down the highway.

If you have money to burn, then get the diesel. However a little math would show that it will take 7+ years to recoup the cost of the Dmax over the gas engine in fuel savings, with normal driving (15K+- miles a year). Unless you are pulling 10K lbs every day all day.

Don't be afraid of the new 6.0, matched with the 6-speed its a good tow vehicle.

thanks for all the input . I have two trucks to chose from one was a Denali 6.0 3.73 the other is a slt with the Dmax look like it will be the Dmax I rather have more than I need

73.4 is best GPS yet! Albeit it was a Reggie Fountain test, very light on fuel coming back from Key West, had less than 20 gallons on board, got to fuel dock and tank was dry!

It will be more then fine.

I pulled our 36 Outlaw with my 2500 6.0 3:73 and it did "ok"

Did like to hunt and downshift on inclines but it was over 12k.

Doubt you would know the 29 was back there

I can get tad over 70 @5200 rpms with half tank and 3 people gps.

I'm takin out the exhaust plates and gettin a 26 labbed prop. I'm praying for 73ish with the 15hp extra.

That is if I still have it come spring. I'm in the midst of working a deal on a mid 80mph boat.... top secret.... shhh...

My buddy has an 04 288/496 HO and I have run with him on a lake, I don't walk away from him but I creep away when running WFO. He was talking about a 540 but don't think he ever did it.....

If you have not had a diesel before the Dmax will make you a convert. You will definately love the power, longevity and quiet of the Dmax.

The denali with a 6.0 is a 1500 truck only the new hd denali with the duramax is a 2500
