What exactly are you looking at? Does it still have factory warranty? How is it priced? I have been trying to find a good deal on a nice truck for a while and pricing is all over the place. Now, I'm hesitant because if fuel skyrockets again, I'll have a truck that goes from $28,000 to $18,000 overnight like they did 3-4 years ago.

It's only my opinion, but I would want warranty for that kind of money. There are plenty of 06 and 07's out there for 26-30k that are still under full factory warranty for another 6-8 months, plus you can purchase another 2 years of coverage from Ford if you do it before the warranty expires. With your budget, you can buy a really nice truck if you are patient.

Just my $0.02 worth ..... with more lines of code than an F22 and more "X"CM's than you can shake a stick at I would not own one out of warranty unless I knew a good Diesel Mechanic that can work cheap or I could afford to walk away from it. Seriously at that price why not look at a deal on a 2010. Ford is giving them away. At least it would have warranty on it. Most don't realize that for major engine work the Cab has to come off! They can be the best you've owned or your worst money pit.

I have a 2011 6.7L CC 4X4 and I have to say it si the nicest truck going ...... but I will never own it out of warranty

My next door nieghbour had a 6.0 L, I think an 04, a guy in his 70s....in the end it had over $35,000 in warranty repairs done on it.....it quit and left the old guy stranded twice just driving around town....the last time the engine grenaded and the truck was down for 2 months....it turned out that a fuel injector stuck and filled a cylinder with fuel.....he dealt it as soon as he got it back and has the 6.7 now and its been good.....he said he found out that the 6.0 was a "temporary" engine between the 7.3 and the 6.7 or whatever they have now

sorry, but you asked

was never a temporary engine. just the next engine. the 7.3 and 6.0 are very similar. sounds like (ill say it again and again) a crappy tech got ahold of it. I have had stuck open injectors before. never made an engine fail. also, its odd that they could price the warranty costs. due to the fact that ford pays for the labor and the parts are theirs. wonder who gave him that number of 35k. they would have bought it back for costs that high.

Default 07 Outlaw

I have an 07 6.0....so far 90k on the odo and a few minor probs...one injector..at 5k...egr tube..75k...and then at 95k when truck was in for regular service they put a new 'flash' in and my fuel mileage was cut in half! Also replace rear power window...hanger bearing...and 1 ujoint...Thank God all warranty! Super Duty..I think not!...But hey...Bully Dog fixed my fuel mileage with a new flash...and honestly..I beat the S#%$T out of the truck....kinda. It has MBRP exhaust, Roush Ram air, and the Triple Dog program and is capable of makin 38psi of boost! I tow my 302 every weekend 4hrs each way to the lake! When warranty is over...so is the relationship.

Bully Dog has an excellent reputation in the diesel community. Can't go wrong with anything they make.
