Ford is advertising the benefit to the factory intergrated trailer brake controller. However, the small print says "trailer brake controller verified to be compatible with electrically actuated drum brakes only".

Does anyone have any realtime experience about the compatibility of the ford system with brake right EOH and disc brake system?? Thanks...
It didn't work on my EOH, had to put in a separate controller

My buddy has a GM and loves it, he claims the duramax/allison tranny combo is great for towing but the thread did start out by test driving a Ford

Got it. Just sometimes people will include comparisons to make their point.

See I've never gotten the praise for the Allison? Fords torqshift seems to handle more abuse stock and especially when modded before starting to let go, those Allisons starting letting go or having issues with even just a tune. We've had one that had an EFI live tune and transmission started slipping, vs two of the 6.0 Fords still in the fam with SCT tunes and 1 is at 120k miles and the 5R110 is still fine. Heck even on the Duramax boards they'll warn you about the trans lol.

Either way both are waaay better than the pos 48LE in the previous Rams.

I agree. both our GM and Ford trucks have over 250k. I'll take the Torqushift...it works, it works, and then kaboom..vs slips, slips, then limp mode. Ive actually gotten 20-30k more out of torqueshift on these trucks that the guys use...but as of now..the Duramax motors are lasting longer.

Default Test

I am back with more info....

Salesman Bert Sheppard of Covert Ford, Austin, Texas offered to let me take a F350 home for the week end. He said "take it to the lake with your boat and see how it goes-no obligation". I could not pass that offer up.

The F350 handled the task well. I also determined that the factory integrated brake controller is compatible with the BrakeRite EOH controller. Just plugged in and the trailer brakes came to life.

Really nice....air conditioned seats - who da' thunk it!!
