Congratulations on the new the Ford, I am sure it will meet all your needs. The only complaint I have with mine is the so-called "exhaust brake" that Ford advertises, it is not a true exhaust brake or at least exhaust brake that I am used to. Another words, don't go down a hill expecting it to brake for you as soon as you come off the fuel. You have to check you brakes first then it will down shift, that is it and with the higher RPM you'll see a slight increase in boost pressure which you'll not feel. It is just a fancy TCM down-shift.

Also, if you have electric over hydraulic trailer brakes you'll need to select it in your menu, it apparently is a different logic. There is also an auto turn signal with these trucks, if you just tap the signal it will flash just 3 times and then turn off automatically and if you have your trailer plugged in it'll give you 5 flashes. Neither are enough and I asked my friends at the dealership if they could reprogram it to flash more but no such luck. Maybe yours will flash more?

One last thing, they sell a "Lock Pick" for the GPS, DVD & Back Up Camera for when you are moving. I really like having the option to view the trailer while towing, if I have a passenger you can program the GPS and for long trips with passengers they can watch a movie. Here is the link.... FORD LOCKPICKS

Again good luck with her.

Yes both trucks were stock. I know the 6.4 has lots of power waiting to be unleashed but I was always scared of messing with the warranty.
Markdonzi, congrats on your new truck

With good reason, these days the dealerships cannot wipe their @$$ without getting approval from Detroit.

My dad just bought the 6.7 and he loves it. Pulls his 36ft camper no problem. I have a lifted 6.4 with a h&s tune, 5" exhaust, and air intake. While mine has a lot of power, his is pretty awesome right out of the box.

20MPG's?? That hand calculated or you going by the dream meter on the dash? 6.4's are known to be hard on fuel. I get 13's w/ mixed driving 15-17 on the highway. 10 towing the boat. Leveling kit & 35's. I have larger turbos & all the deletes, Cold air intake, studs & 4 inch turbo back. Running Gearhead custom tunes.

Yep, '08 F-450 stock and I am VERY prudent with the skinny pedal and usually see those MPG numbers (14-17). Now, with a 4.10 gear, anything above 65 and the numbers start falling off - QUICK. But, will absolutely pull a building off it's foundations. From what I've heard, the 08 450 was also offered with 4.56 rear gear - can't imagine trying to run the highway with that. Just rolled over 100K miles (not my primary vehicle) and I'm looking at the H&S tuners and assorted delete kits. The 6.4 has soooo much potential. But, as was stated before, the 6.7's are bad arse right outta the box.

I am certainly enjoying my 6.4 but the mileage is horrendous.

Found an H&S Mini Maxx RACE on Craigslist for 200 bucks. Running it on Street right now until the warranty is up in October. I never imagined I'd be this excited for a warranty to expire, but it will be nice to go back to getting 18-20mpg just from the standpoint that I feel like I'm CONSTANTLY at the fuel station. Filled up my 7.3 once a month. This thing is at the pump all the time.
