The new model is day and night compared to the previous model, on many aspect! Absolutely no common complaints from the customer, just good comments! Very little difference on fuel consumption between a 3.42 and the 3.73 but the 3.73 makes a good difference when towing the 8000 to 11000 lbs. The 4 cyl mode really stays on for a long time compared to the previous model even with 2000 lbs in the box driving 55 to 60 ish mph.

You really cant go wrong by choosing those chev or gmc 1500 2014 and over!

Oh, I forgot to add that I have a Diablo tuner installed too. I disabled the 4 cylinder mode with the tuner so it's always a V8.

I tow my 292 with a 2011 1500 5.3 3.42 6 speed. Ordered mine as well with the tow package, 20" S84 wheels and Z60 performance suspension. Had to be Summit White and have the 2 tone gray interior that the girly wanted. I have no complaints, does everything its supposed to do. Will be towing down to Florida from PA in 15 days, so she'll be put to the true test then. Had I had to do it over, I would have ordered the truck with the 6.2L and 3.73 suspension, not because the 5.3 3.42 it's lacking in anyway, but if I decided to ever go bigger (cough... cough...353...cough) I wouldn't need to have a bigger truck right away. Next one might just have to be a diesel, if I decide that these long trips to far off destinations are what I want to do more of.

I looked into the All-Terrains too when I was looking. Nice trucks. I just saw GMC is coming out with the 2015 Sierra Carbon 20&22 editions. Has some cool features included in them. Might want to give them a look too.

I was looking at low mile 10/13's but even tho I found a few with low miles none compared to the condition of my 05, thats how i ended up looking at new ones, no one takes care of anything anymore

Will do! I'm not worried about the truck, I have more anxiety over my trailer. It's an 04 alum Ibeam. I basically did a complete overhaul of it over if it in the past 6 months. All new kodiak disc brake kits. Ran all new brake lines too. All new bunk hardware. All new LED running lights, fixed and repaired corroded wiring connections. I'm hoping I did enough to ensure a safe trip down and back.

You are going to love the disc brakes over the drum. Did you install EOH? If not thats the only other upgrade that I think would make it perfect! I upgraded my aluminum I-beam from surge drum to EOH disc and its night and day!

No EOH. I had discs already, not drums, just wanted to replaced everything old with everything new. I will say the integrated hub and rotor kits from Kodiak take all the guess work outta of it. So far I'm really impressed by them. Great for the DIYer.
