The cummins engine is great but the rest of the dodge truck isn't as good as the gm trucks. A neighbor of our shop had an outer tie rod end break when driving by our shop at 30 MPH and he hopped the curb into our parking lot! This was a 2011 3500 Mega cab with 30k. Luckily he was only doing 30. The rest of Chrysler products also have their fair share of issues especially the mercedes era cars.

Mine is a dually and that was at 68-70.
Dan I'm pretty sure (haven't kept up last couple years) all the 6.7 dodges have the Aisin warner trans.

I just picked up a 2015 F350 6.7L Diesel. 860 ft/lbs of torque. that's what I wanted because we bought a bigger boat, a Donzi 38zr with trailer. so I too wanted some good power to pull. all 3 have good pairings I think. its all in what floats your boat so to speak, lol. I drove both the chevy 3500 and the ford f350. I liked them both. I like the looks of the f350. let me know if you need any info. good luck.

Dan, I've got a 2010 with the automatic and we regularly gross 40,000 to 45,000 gross with a 40' gooseneck. I'm at 130,000 on the odometer and the only problem I've had is u joints about every 15,000 miles and the pinion bearings need replacing right now. Rear tires are only good for about 15,000 miles We carry these loads up into the hills in West Virginia weekly. I'm not saying it hasn't taken a toll on the truck overall because it has but so far it's always come home under its own power. I've had a few loads of lumber on it when I grossed 55,000 to 57,500. It has a Smarty programmer on it and air bags with a leveling valve as well.
