Dually wheels trailers

No, same set of lug nuts hold both, so you can access both tires. Another benefit is that if one tire blows you can keep limping along for awhile. On a triple usually the one that blows drops down to the ground and has to be chained up or changed right away.

Dually trailers are the way to go. The one point I had to consider when building a trailer last year was around Ohio and Mi. the ramps are pretty shallow and I didn't want to get in a situation where I couldn't float off the trailer. With a triple axle trailer I have to dunk the trailer deep to get our boats off.

I've never had a situation where having a 2-axle trailer would have been any easier to maneuver than a 3-axle trailer of the same length. They are still going to have the same center of gravity and pivot at the same point, dragging a tire or not.
If you were really concerned about this issue, why not set it up a 3-axle trailer with air ride? Then you could increase the pressure in two axles and decrease the pressure in the third, and temporarily adjust your turning radius; fore or aft.

I asked the same question about 10 years ago.
I was told the Dually Axles don't do well submerged at the launch.
Can't remember if it was Brakes or seals didn't fare well but that was the short of it.
Truth? False? Technology changed since then ?
Otherwise I agree other than added height dually is the way to go.

The one thing I would not want on a boat trailer if you are dunking is leaf springs they suck. As far as maneuvering I don't think you will see any difference from a triple to a double.

How do you accomplish this? Break out a bicycle tire at each turn and go to work? Raid a low rider? Doesn`t seem very practical.

But a tag axle setup is what I was going for.
