Trailer fenders source - triple axle
Does anyone have a good source for triple axle trailer fenders? Currently have the aluminum diamond plate stamped (generic) fenders, they crack, bend, and do not hold up very well. Looking to replace with something more substantial, probably aluminum. The ones with the "skirts" (curved wheel openings), look to have more support for climbing up on the fender to use as a step.
Anyone have a good source on here, that would ship them to OH?
Thanks.

I am pretty sure there was a thread on this exact topic in the last year or so.

I looked at many suppliers last year in Canada and the US. I couldn’t find any that made a nice heavy duty fender that had enough material thickness to stand up to being used as a step.
I had a set of aluminum checker plate made up at a local machine shop. Then bolted and welded them to the trailer.
Worth every dollar.

Any of the aluminum fenders are pretty weak. You'll need to go with steel or stainless for true strength. But, if you decide to stick with aluminum, here's what I did on the trailer for my last boat. I added 1/4" thick aluminum plate underneath and bolted the fender supports through both. It made a big difference.

I added 1" angle to a customers trailer. The full length. Then 6" down across the back of the fender. The front side had the scallops between the wheels. He came back and gave us compliments on the strength of them.

Good ideas on the modifications. Can't believe how hard it is to find these style;
I would just make them myself, but we cannot do the radiused edges.... Anyone?

This is a Performance Trailer - think they're out of business now (but they are steel anyway). Myco sells parts - might check with them.

At Broward Trailer we use Rockwell American 2895-AT diamondplate fenders but we do put some rather substantial braces underneath and on the ends, see attached pics. You can stand on these all you want :-)
