Default NEED Low Cost Transport NY to San Francisco Bay

I have a Formula 252BR on a 2019 trailer. 4500lb boat plus weight of trailer. Beam 8.6. Boat is 25'. Total length with trialer is 30'. Trailer has tags. Boat is shrink wrapped and winterized already. Does anyone have good options for shipping. I went to UShip and quotes were steep (over 4K). Anyone have good options. Time frames are flexible. Going from Wading River, NY to Martinez, CA.

I'm thinking 4K isn't that bad, its 2951 miles so thats 1.35 a mile, but hope someone has a bare hitch headed your way

Any haul off Long Island is going to add a premium just for the tolls and the BS you have to deal with when hauling anything. I regularly transport boats to Riverhead, Montauk and other areas in NY with an understanding there is no predicting the timeframe. To add to your dilemma, you are wanting a haul West, which is 90% against the air currents and will most likely be met with a 20 to 30 knot headwind for most of the trip. So factoring the Long Island trip, winds, crappy roads and the miles... you should be happy someone bid your trip for under $5K. Also understand, most transporters are filling all their schedules with Snowbirds migrating home at with hauls going for at least $1k/day... so you can begin to see taking 7-10 days to head West without any hope to find a paying backhaul versus staying East and keeping busy.

If you do end up with uShip, their new policy is to to hold all payments in their escrow for amounts under $5K. This was done to keep "Mom & Pops" who were asking for high deposits and leaving shippers without a legal haul or dumped loads. You can further vet someone by looking at their "Cancellations" on uShip rather than their ratings of completed hauls. A list of cancellations will reveal if they have any integrity at all. LMK if you do not find a transporter... there might be a window I could help you with but I could not guarantee within the next 30 days.
