Just a regular bravo 1. i'm going to try to baby it and hopefully get it to last a season or two.
I have a buddy with an identical boat and a 750hp blower motor who's been running a bravo 1 for two years with that power and no problems. Just gonna take it easy on it and keep my fingers crossed.

I am running a Bravo 1 and that is what I was thinking with my upgrade and to make sure my insurance is paid up! Funny how those logs seem to hit the lower units when you have big power

All the pulleys are painted up and back on. A lot of the accessories are on. Still finishing up a few things.
I've been on travel a lot the last few weeks so i haven't been by to take any new pictures. I'm heading to hawaii for vacation next week, and when i return i'll get some updates and better pictures.
SS,
If your ever down this way in the summer, bring the boat down, i'd be happy to put you up for the night and introduce you to the tiki bar. We have a bunch of go fast guys who meet up every weekend on a beach and then make a run to tiki in the afternoons.

shore, I'll tell ya she's gonna be a different ride this year.
I think you're building the tripplet to me and rick. Looks great.
Rick and I are 600hp plus with similar set ups....mine is 515ci,merlin heads, dart intake,1050 dominator and CMI split top pipes.
are the merlins Aluminum? Did you choose exhaust?

I can't wait for the water test when its all done. the merlins are aluminum. I've heard mixed things about going with aluminum heads in brackish water, but i got a deal on them i couldn't resist. I haven't made my final decision on exhaust yet. I had gils, so i still have the SS risers which are in great shape, so i could buy new gil manifolds for around 1k. Another option is the Hardin cyclone headers that bolt up to the gil risers for around 1,700. Or i could go full headers from anywhere between 2300 and 3700.
pros of the gils, is they're cheap and they can handle the Hp. cons are appearance and corrosion.
pros of the hardins are looks cool in the bilge and relatively cost effective. cons are questionable whether they are going to be restrictive to 650hp.
pros of the full headers, looks cool, best performance. cons are $$$$, and i've heard some horror stories on them cracking and leaking.
I'm kinda leaning towards the gils since i still have to buy hydraulic steering for the boat.
Anyone got any input on the decision i have to make (in the next couple of weeks)?
