Velocity 280 Owners
I'm hoping a few of you 28' owners could help me out. I was wanting to know what kind of leg room there was between the back seat and the front bolsters. Also what is the interior freeboard depth as well as cabin height. I have 3 kids and really need to make sure I have no less cockpit space than my interior 26 Powerquest.
Thanks

I was hoping for more between the back seat and bolster. I'll have to double check but I beleive my PQ has 16". And that extra 3" makes a big difference.
By the way hows it habdle the 3' plus stuff??
Also does the 28' include the swim platform? Looks like this model has a bolted on unit..

The 280 is a great boat and I can assure you that you will not ever come across a boat in its size range that will out perform it in the rough or calm water and that is a fact I have alot of years behind the wheel of one and it is a bad ass ride especially with big power in it,it is a drivers boat and alot of fun with all the comforts for the family.

I have a 26 T-Bred wich is actully a 28 these days. there is pleanty of room i can assure you of that. everyone will be more then adiquily comfortable in the boat leg room is great and also for the front bolsters there is pleanty of room. I talked to many people before bough and they all said the same thing, in rough stuff there is no comparison ull blast right though even under a good amount of throttle. Takes the waves and gives it right back with a great ride

Anyone have any interior pics showing the back seat and bolster distance as well as any storage pics? There is a dealer about an hour away from where I live and they have a few instock so I plan on driving up to take a look. But it would be nice to see as much as I can before I head up. Cockpit space is pretty important as well as storage. Based on what I could find the 280 length includes the bolt on plat form.. I would have thought that to not be the case.

Best thing to do is climb around in one and check it out for yourself. Everyone has different opinions on what is and what isn't enough room.
Many of my friends are 6'0" to 6'4" and have never complained about a lack of leg room back there.
For a true 26' boat, I think the ratio of boat length to cockpit size is spot on with the 280. Deep freeboard, and just the right amount of cockpit to still have a decent bow length.
The cabin on the other hand, starts fairly tall and quickly slopes down with headroom. Just check it out for yourself to see if it meets your needs.

It is a great boat and you really need to get in it and judge for yourself. I have been on a Powerquest and I would say they are pretty equal in room. with kids you will appreciate the deep cockpit. i run mine in Lake Erie which can get quite snotty.
