Don't forget to remove the drill bit from the center of the hole saw. When I did it, I shortened the bit then removed it after the hole saw started cutting.

So what's the best method for glueing it down? should I just use some resin? Or epoxy? Also, am I better off to countersink it some, or mount it on top?

Thanks,
Frank

The factory had me cut through the deck and coring, remove it, coat everything with resin or epoxy and insert puck. Make sure it cures before using boat. Again check with the factory as this was 1999, they may have different (better) methods now.

well, here's what I ended up doing. I went between the motor mounts and cut a hole right in the center of the boat, glassed it in, then epoxied the transducer in. I went out today and splashed it just to make sure it worked before I install the engine. It worked perfect. Now I can finish painting the bilge area.

I take your transducer isn't round. Made the job more difficult but it looks good.

Please let us all know what numbers you get with the new motor.

Your right, the tranducer was pie shaped, and I didn't want to cut a hole any bigger than I had to, so I cut the hole like you see in the pic above.

I'll be sure to tell the #'s when I get it together. I'm pretty curious to know myself.
