The Regal Velocity is a nice boat. Was the drive upgraded from an Alpha? pictures? you should post in the classified section.

What prop are you running on your velocity? I just bought a 1990 23' with the 454. I was told this boat would do 70+mph, but I am having a hard time seeing 60mph.

Thanks! Is that a Mirage plus? What type of RPM's and Speed are you seeing? I am going to try a 25P mirage plus this weekend. I will post the results. Also, any idea of the outdrive gear ratio? Is it 1.5 or 1.36?

You better post this in the classifieds, they are pretty strick about this.............

I used to have a 1990 23ft Regal Velocity with a 454mag and bravo drive and lathem steering. This is how this boat came from the factory. A friend of mine had a 1987 with a 454 and Alpha that he latter switched to a bravo. Both of us could run about 73mph in the right conditions. Once you start getting up there toward the top end, you have to drive through the chine walk but is should break 70mph. I think we both ran 23 and 25 pitch mirages.

Wow! There must be somthing else wrong with my boat then. I tried a 23 pitch mirage and topped out at 62mph. Am I possibaly not trimming up enough? I was running about 4600 RPM.

My 89 with 454 mag and lightning headers would see 70 mpy on GPS almost any day of the week. Best run was 72.6 on GPS.

It is the 330HP. Padraig, what prop are you running? How far are you trimming up, and what kind of RPM's are you seeing?
