She's done and finally ready to test. Got the loose ends finished yesterday. The first post on this thread was 4-28-08 today is my daughters 17th birthday and is 4-2-09

Installed the VHF radio.


Installed the remote speaker mike and piratecom controler


Installed the 3 battery, battery charger


Installed the Dana battery box covers


Installed the stellings exhaust rings on the tails.




Planning on testing Friday and or Saturday. We are having 40-50 mph gust of Oklahoma winds sweeping down the plains today.
Wish us luck! Hopefully we will get a calm day Fri or Sat.[/QUOTE]

Good Luck! Kill switch tether and some good vests would be in order. You need to be around for #18.

The one thing I will tell you, from personal experience with that hull, is that more power does help. It allows you to run without the off the chart trim and it does work better. Before you launch mark the neutral position of the drives and tabs on the indicators just so you know. I always ran with just a little positive on the tabs at speed, set them in the 70 - 80 range and don't be fussin' with them at real high speeds. I found that would at times unsettle the boat. Then trim it till it feels like it is set on it's tail. You are kinda creating a tri-pod out of the pad and the tabs for it to run on. Worked well with mine, though my tabs were set parallel to the water rather than the angle of the hull. It's a learning process for sure, take your time.

Patience of Jobe. No test yet, One of my drive indicators was stuck / sticking and have to change the cable. I didn't want to take it out without them working properly. I also decided to cut off that damn swim platform and add a aluminum one higher up than the original. Platform is to low with the extension boxes and my upper tie bar hits it to early, like on 7 on the indicators.

I did get to go out and play in Texoma thanks to Matt AKA TXHawk in his Excalibur Hawk 40 with twin 700's. Very nice ride with lots of power and rode very smooth in the windy conditions we had today. Thanks Matt for a nice day out, I owe you one.

Here's a thought for you, I just looked at your pic of the tie bar set up, and what if you were to place the upper tie bar at the bottom of the bracket vs the top. Should be able to use the same pin, just going down instead of up. Why not just pull it and see if that gains you travel? Or change to a diff set up, something like the Imco deal where the tie bar mount is a part of the rear cap. That set up you have is pretty bulky, there are more trim / compact set ups out there. If you could gain a pin or two you should be fine, mine would run around 9 - 10ish if I remember right. With boxes you should have more leverage on the boat and might not even need much, if any more.

Suggestion ...... Try moving the bar location. Look to see if you could also notch out the underside of the platform for some extra clearance. Run the boat to see if you even need it first. Cutting that platform off is going to be a major deal, not to mention the cost. Or just take the upper one right off, you don't really need two in the first place. Could also test run with it off if you do find you need more before you do anything. At least run the biotch first just as it sits, then go from there.

Put that saws-all back in the case for a while! Run it!

Thanks RaggedEdge, I'll look into it further, Oh we will run the Biotch before we cut anything. I just need the indicators to work first. The main reason I don't like the platform is I can see anything back there vs a aluminum one. Like to see water coming out the drains in the tails.

One thing I will not miss with the new set-up is that damn beeping noise right before the engine shuts down when you just get on plane. Attention, you are now in Gardian mode, you have 850 hp but since you are now in the Gardian mode you will only be able to idel around. Thank you for your understanding please have your Mercury Marine mechanic research the problem, reset your computer and tell you nothing is wrong must have been a fluke, here is your bill. VV
