290 sc 600 sci prop questions
Have a 290 sc with 600 sci looking for prop suggestions x-dim is 2" higher than normal , have 15 x 28 5 blade turbo precsion
prop on boat now cant get past 78 mph with 1/2 tank 2 people in 1 ft chop

Is this the 2006 or 2007 290 with the 600 sci that also had the generator and other cruising ammenities installed? If so, weight is always a factor.

no rev limiter is at 5400 rpm cant hit it , also boat is 2008 with nothing but a couch and storage cabinet in it

With a 28" prop your boat should be all over the rev limiter. It could be that the engine is somehow in guardian mode and running at 90%. Before I added A/C mine would turn a 28" prop and run low 80's.

Have you tried a 4 blade prop? If it will stay hooked up it will be faster than a 5 blade.
You may also what to try a Hydro P5 or P5X 5 blade vs. the Turbo. On my last boat, I ran the Turbo Fusion 4 vs a Bravo I 4 blade vs a Hydro P5X and the Bravo was fastest by 2mph; the Turbo and Hydro ran the same. My point is that the Turbo may not be the fastest prop.
One other thing to keep in mind is that a 600SCI makes exactly 600CSHP and a 525EFI makes about 540CSHP; so the 600 is not going to push the boat that much faster than a 525 will.

ran a 4 blade bravo 15 x 29 stock hit 5000 rpm 76 gps , the precision turbo came from the factory , also tested 5 blade hydro 15 x 27( started as a 15 1/2 x 28 ) lab 2 hit 5000 rpm 76 gps , cant hit rev limiter with these three props for nothing , gonna try 4 blade 15 x 30 merc labbed this weekend
