Ol' Paul and Darris really know their stuff when it comes to making boats fast. It's funny to read some of the "negative" comments towards the Velocity's because I've gotten the same kind in regards to my Allison.

"Those Allison's will hook on ya"
"Too much chine walking"
"Not a rough water boat"
blah, blah, blah.

But in the end, power & weight being equal, there's not another V-bottom that will touch em'.

Cool . Thanks for the website link. I love the Super Sport with the black accents. Would love to have a second boat and that little biotch could be the one.

Me too.

The one on the website had a 90 4-stroke Honda, and was reported to top out in the low 60's. That same boat with a good 260/280 will run 115+.

Retail for boat & trailer is around $30k.

The SS was first introduced as a 98' model year boat, and hasn't changed since. They made them in three formats:
Excel, which is a true 4 seater, with the option to slide the driver seat into the middle.

Comp, which is a center steer and a 2 person rear bench

Race, which they only made a handful and are the lighest of all three.

One of the largest Allison Dealers is Reynolds in Tennessee. Glen Reynolds knows his stuff when it comes to setting up and making an A-boat run fast. Another great dealer is Lee Sanderson in Virginia.

Some good websites to look for new and/or used:

www.reynoldsracingmarine.com
www.sandersonmarine.com
www.screamandfly.com
www.allisonowners.com

Saying a little Allison is cool is bad mouthing a Velocity? Give me a break here. If it hadn't been for Allison your Velocity might have a step bottom.

Fact is , most of the people on the Velocity thread are here to share information and experences in a helpfull way . I get once upon a time you owned a Velocity , and might have had fun with it . Mostly I hear about your last and current fountain and how much you like them over a Velocity . I have owned a Velocity for more than 15 years by choice . I like that Steve can be reached by any of his customers with just a phone call .Though I never bought one new ,he gives me the same consideration . He is happy to try and help with tech , set up , and driving questions about his boats .Is his hull the fastest and most high tech ? Probably not .But he makes a nice boat that"s fun , fast , and pretty safe . Let us enjoy and be proud owners in our Velocity thread . All your fact this and fact that just sound like sour grapes to me ! So as I have said before we could all get along or....................

I wish I knew more so I could comment. Damn I hate it when that happens.
