Thumbs down Winterizing

Well, the weather here in CT forced me to take a ride up to the marina last night at 10pm to drain the water out of my engine...
I was hoping for a couple of more rides before winterizing but maybe not...
Just as I was getting used to running a bigger boat, the season seems to have come to the end. Oh well, next year will come soon enough...

Well, the weekend was so nice I decided to hook the hoses back up and go for one last ride rather than sucking anti-freeze through.
Boating here in the north land on November 2nd, not bad.
Now she's home so no more rides in 2008.

We'll Guys,
I spent about 1-1/2 hours winterizing my boat's engine last night.
First I hooked up all the hoses from draining the water out Sunday night. Then I ran 3 gal of anti-freeze through using a bucket and hose.
Third I pulled off the fuel filter, dumped some gas out and filled it with 2 stoke oil. Then I ran 2 more gal of anti-freeze through as the 2 stoke oil hopefully "fogged the engine".
Last I changed the oil and fired it one last time until the oil pressure registered.
I have left to pull off the prop, unhook the batteries, and cover it for the winter; all of which can wait a few weeks while I do other chores around the house.
My boating season started late (in July) this year and I struggled with wiring/efi issues up until the last day. But the season end well as the engine apperes to be good after a compression test and no more error codes from the ecm.
I'm pretty used to running her now also so I'm definitely looking forward to next season.
I'll post some new picture a soon as I find some time to download them from the wife's camera.
Later,

Hi Mike,
Stick with the single engine and buy a Seatow membership. One engine is enough work to keep running right...
I'm not even pulling my drive off so I should be ready to run in April. I guestimate I logged less than 20 hours so you and I both have some making up to do next season...
