Not exactly...they offered the 7.4 330hp motor with the Alpha and the 454 Magnum 365hp motor with the Alpha up to 1987. The Bravo 1 drive came out late in 1987 and the boat could be ordered with the 7.4 Bravo (330hp) or the 454 Magnum/Bravo (365 hp).

Thanks for the info.. I was wondering about the hp rating also as its not listed anywhere on the engine.. So far i have just been doing my own maintnance so i know what is done to it.. hopefully will get it wet this week..
I do have an exhaust question though, I want to get rid of the 5 gal. bucket sized mufflers, does anyone have any pics of the exhaust on theirs so i can get an idea of what parts i need.. The mufflers have an elbow built in, so it seems like i would just need a straight piece of exhaust hose and a 90* elbow.. But would i need to make a support? Also which exhaust hose to use? Wire or no wire? Thanks

100% correct. I bought a few new boats during 1987-88 and owned several of these packages brand new.
The '87 454 Magnum was the 330 hp version mated to the Alpha One . (I still have one of these packages in my 22 Pachanga) In '88, the 330 was then designated the 7.4L and the 454 Mag was the old Merc 370 TRS motor rated at 365 hp both mated to the then new Bravo drive.
From a glance at the pic, it's clear that this motor has the high rise aluminum Magnum intake.
Those 23 Regal/Velocity's are pretty cool boats that stand up to the test of time. There are several of them running our lake up here.

auctually looking at the first pictures you posted you should just be able to take out the mufflers and the existing exhaust hose connected to either end then just cut you a new piece that length and switch them out . you probably gonna have to cut the old rubber off the fiberglass elbow but be careful not to go too deep. its alot easier to cut off instead of trying to pry and twist and pull especially if its origional to the boat

for you guys with the side exhaust on a boat i had with it we made a balance tube to go between the to pipes before it turned down and out to the side and it made the boat sound a ton better. If the boat was idling and one side went under the water it sounds like a 4 cly. but with the balanse tube you always hear the whole motor
