Default 280 Look out for?

Hey guys! Looking to get back into the boating game again from a 10 year pause and the 280 is on my list. 1999 to 2001 seems to be in my range and was wondering what to look for (structure wise) when I find one. Thanks for the help and it's good to be back here again!

You found one..... give me a call 302-824-5229 or text me your email and ill send you some info. Look for a wet transom, it seems to be the weakest link. I haven't seen any other issues.

first you need to say where you are. the right boat can be worth a 2000 mile each way trip, but one within 500 or so saves you nearly a week of your life...

Im in FL but my post was just a problem finder/ common issues for the 280 model. I do however hope to save a week of my life from driving but 1000 miles is the limit...

Friend of mine has bin trying to sell his 03 280 w/496 ho. Looks as new as the day he bought it and he is the only owner. Was asking 35k. Very worth it imo.

I rebuilt my 280 last winter from top to bottoms and found the build quality to be very good in comparison to some of my other boats. I had no moisture issues (thankfully).

Here is a link to my complete build thread. I am thinking about selling my 280 to move up to a 390 or 410 so if your still looking let me know. The 280 is an awesome boat and I truly love mine and how it performs, but really want to move up to a 40' boat.

Either way, good luck with your search. You will love the 280.

Any questions feel free to pm me.

That didn't take long, I will be looking to make the same move. I just need to finish the purchase of 2 lots next to me so I can build a garage big enough to hold a 39 and then I have to redo the road coming in to make the turns wide enough to get the 39 through.
