The post-2006 "Velocity Fests" have been simple get togethers at Great Oaks with no planned agenda so there wasn't a hard minimum boat count other then "enough" to make it worthwhile/desirable for people to attend.

If Ziemer is willing to look into availability of rooms and rates for those days at Great Oak , then he can post the information here for everyone . At that point people need to reserve rooms , that time of year they book up early . There are slips available , as well as the option of sleeping on your boat in the cove . Once the date is firmed up with the hotel , it would be time to start spreading the word .

Okay, So let's make it the weekend of June 28th, Zeimer if you can check on the availability and then we can work on a firm count. Once we have a preliminary count each individual can book for the time they want to stay. I am in one way or another, just hopefully have a boat to haul down with me.

Haven't forgotten! Work's been crazy this last week. Got a message into the Manager and hope to get some updates by the end of the week. Stay warm up north!

Ok, got some info from Brad up at Great Oak. Here's what they can do, and once we get a better count of boats, we might be able to do a little better on the rooms. Typical weekend rates for slips is $2.75 per foot, but if you stay in the hotel it drops to $1.50 per foot or $2.25 if you stay on the boat. Standard rooms on the weekend are $149 per night.
Our plan is to get into town from Florida sometime on Friday and most likely put in and run down on Saturday and spend Saturday night at GO. However, some may want to run down Friday and stay two nights.
Let me know what y'all think and once I have a better idea on number of boats and days, I can see what else Brad can do for us.
I will need boat size, what day you'd check in and out, and if you need a room.
