My flappers arrived this morning, only thing missing were the 2 clamping screws which I replaced with some stainless socket head screws. A polish job was definitely needed, and a little Mothers Chrome polish (works great on stainless too) and wahla..........

Thank you sir. I did have a little issue with the rubber insert that goes between the tail pipe and the clamp. It was sent separate from the flappers and I'll assume it was glued inside the clamp at one time. I'll pull them back off and super glue the rubber back in the clamp tonight. I'm really, really pleased with these in looks not to mention I was able to steal these for minimal cost compared to a new pair..........

I wasn't aware that the flaps were counter weighted to be 100% shut when the engine is off, that's a real plus for back wash prevention from rouge waves while anchored or just drifting in some heavy slop.

That is cool that they are counter weighted.

Like I mentioned, that was a big plus. It's actually the placement of the hinge that counters the weight, hinge is placed way forward of the flap plate making that weight actually heavier than it is just by moving the pivot point, very smart idea. Another week of rain here as I had hopes of rolling the boat out for a test fire up video. Looks like it'll have to wait till the end of April, we're heading to the Caribbean soon for some long overdue warmth and sunshine.

LOL. I threw my original black rubber flappers in the trash when the Hardin's showed up. Funny as I was polishing my tips/flappers same day you put yours on. You inspired me to start getting the boat ready.

Bought a Raylar CoolGap sheet metal intake last week. They don't make them anymore and used to go for $2300. I got it for a very nice price. Gonna start getting parts for a 525HO build.
