I am looking at a '94 280 velocity. How will this thing handle big rough water like Lake Michigan. I've been in a 22' and it gets very uncomfortable out there in a hurry. How does the 280 compare to other 28's like a saber or pantera or sonic in the big water???
Thanks!!!!
Thanks!!!!

clc900,
I have a 95 280 and I think it handles great. I usually boat out of South Haven MI and it can get rough in a hurry. The overall ride "in the rough" can be little more abusive on the body compared to the other boats you've listed but also can be very forgiving too.

Compared to the other boats, I will take the Velocity over them any time for handling and performance. The 280 (26') can handle the big water extremely well. I ran with many boats in the ocean that were bigger than me and could pull them at any time. Are they the most comfortable in rough water, maybe not, but they can definitely handle it well.
