The 30ft Superboat is a neat boat but with the 7 ft beam it has a tendency to rock from side to side alot unless you are really running it at a higher speed
That hull just flat WORKS! It's not anymore likely to rock side to side than my Thoroughbred, and he just motored through chop that was beating me to death! We were running at 60-65, wind was blowing 25kts.
Not that I'm looking at trading! I love my T-Bred.

That Y2K is a very nice boat, but it will in no way hang with my 320 Velocity in any water conditions, flat or rough, but they are very nice and I wont take that away from them.I will stick to the Velocity line because of the capabilitys and the fun you have running them.

Re: Top speed for Velocity 320 w/single ?
Check out the new 32 coming out this year. It will handle the water and power. It will be very nice and be very fast. If I was going to step up to twins, and stay in the medium range, this would be the boat. It has a slightly different hull than the previous 32. I bet you will like it. I would assume it will be at the Miami boat show.
Stay away from a 7' beam. I have been in 7' beam boats and they are very unstable at low speeds and if anyone moves around at all the boat leans very badly.

But, for under 60k brand new with stock power... and to get a 70mph boat that just plain rocks in rough water, the Superboat is a good deal. It IS spartan, though. Not a drink holder to be found!

7Ft foot just does not get it,had a super boat, corsa and they do not hold a candle to the Velocity, come on down and lets go for a ride,I will prove to you that the Velocity is a better boat.

Sorry guys, didn't mean to start a Velocity vs SB thread. I like 'em both.

Concerning my 280 handling over the rough stuff, I think part of the problem I have over 65mph is that I do not have trim tabs to help stablize the boat and also do not have external stearing so the boat is hard to control at 70mph and going through side waves. I can feel the boat getting pushed left or right and the steering response at that speed gets uncomfortably loose. My assumption is that 70mph is about the limit for a boat without external steering and tabs ?? When I back down the speed a bit to say 60ish, control of the boat is far better and I can go through some pretty crazy waves. Any other opinions are more than welcome - thanks !

Re: Top speed for Velocity 320 w/single ?
I just switched my 320 from Bravos to Imcos as well as a propellor change and picked up a bunch of speed,my Hydromotives made the boat very loose in the stern and the Bravos helped correct the problem,on Radar and still playing around it has been 104 and hitting the rev limmiters, but it is now to cold and we had a oil spill on the Delaware river so I guess I am done until the spring ,as for the Super boat,in rough water stay away because of the 7 foot width, because it is just not a user friendly enough hull, compared to alot of other options.
