Default Question for you Warlock guys..............

I have a friend who has a 1998 27 World Class, V-bottom, with a Whipple Charged 496 with approx. 700hp. He wants to know if you guys think an Imco 2" shortie drive will help pickup some speed???? How about handling, etc.......

Here's the link to the OSO thread for a group purchase discount...............http://www.offshoreonly.com/forums/s...shortie+drives

Thanks guys for any input.

no. i rigged at warlock for 8 years. where we placed the x dimension is the best possible. over all. even on a race boat we would go up a 1/2 inch at most. then it will just porpoise or just get very difficult to get on plane and a boat that handles extremely well in rough water u will be ruining it. just fir an extra 3 miles an our. not worth it

I have tried a IMCO shortened lower on my 1998 27 and just got more prob blowout. I am considering adding a one inch spacer and see if I can reduce my prop slip factor. Also I have a porpose issue on flat water I would like to see if the spacer cures or help with that.

Has anyone tried adding an inch?
