Default New to boating, advice / instruction near Lake Mead?

Interested in boating, and just bought an advanced boat (42' Baja v-hull / triple inboard) - my dream boat, as a non-boater

My last boating experience was a summer 20 years ago sailing dinghies when I was 12; don't want to hurt my new boat, and would like to take as much instruction on boating as possible prior to its delivery. I see some classes in Havasu, but they require your own boat, and mine will be delivered to Lake Mead in about two months.

Once transport is scheduled I'm going to need a hydro hoist based on Lake Mead's mussel problem, and a 40-50' covered slip. Likely the boat will stay on Lake Mead in perpetuity. I touched based with the marina and there are slips available, so I don't foresee any issues there, they're also a hydro hoist dealer.

Apparently the only legal requirement for Nevada is a 10 minute online certification course. I'm thinking I can spend the next few weeks learning how to boat, perhaps renting some boats at the marina and get a feel for it. Curious if anyone has tips, advice, leads on instruction?

Lake mead is really great boating. I think Tres Martin does instruction there. If you can find any offshore boaters at the marina I'm sure they would be happy to help you enter a new adventure. Let us know when the new toy is delivered and then we can move on from there. I think "see spot run" is in the same marina. Sean I'm sure would be happy to help you.

Great Lake. But you may need to have them put some water back in it ?
